Card Cutters’ Contactless Scarf Will Help you Shop Smarter

Card Cutters’ Contactless Scarf Will Help you Shop Smarter

Card Cutters’ Contactless Scarf has come in time for Christmas to make our lives even better.

The time of the year when we can’t stop but shop for Christmas has come. The period that means more and more people are in the shops in searching for the Christmas gifts. This will lead to long queues and very busy shop floors.

There are however, a small portion of people that prefer to make all these shops smarter.

But this is where the wearable technology comes to our help. Card Cutters have designed a solution to make shopping in this period less stressful.

To be able to make your shopping less stressful, they carried studies and surveys to find out more about what shoppers find frustrating during Christmas shopping.

The results were incredible, with some of the top examples ‘long queues’ and ‘overcrowded shops’, ‘carrying too many bags’ and ‘finding your wallet at the till.’

‘This is where our idea for ‘contactless clothing’ was born as we wanted to provide a quick method of payment – this is obviously where contactless payment comes into its own – that didn’t involve people having to scramble around for their cards.’

They mixed the two together, and added contactless payment technology onto an easily accessible item of clothing, one you wear these months.

“When we saw the results of which items of clothing people would like to wear adapted with contactless payment technology, such as a scarf, a bag, gloves and even a hat. We thought it would be great to respond to these requests and trial this service during this festive time, and you never know the future of contactless clothing could be brought into 2017.”

‘As it turned out, this was also one of the more popular options when we then asked our polls the question: ‘Which item of clothing would you want to use for contactless payments when shopping at Christmas?’.

The prototype scarf has a contactless payment chip cleverly placed at one end, just above the tassels.

The way it works is as easy and effortless as your standard contactless credit or debit card, and you can use the scarf to make payments of £30 or under.

“The idea is that you as the purchaser can save time, rather than having to fumble around for your card – this would also be particularly effective for those with lots of shopping bags. Equally though, a business would also be able to get through more sales in a shorter timeframe.”

“If this method of payment was to take off, it’s fair to say that there’s a world of possibilities available.”

If you are a male and don’t wear a scarf, there is an alternative for you. Called “contactless cufflinks” this little piece of wardrobe works the same as the scarf.

Which one would you wear it? What do you think about wearable technology?
