RuPaul is an American actor, drag queen, television personality, and singer/songwriter and his/her current net worth is $10 million.

Born in San Diego, California his name, Ru, came from his mother, from roux, a term for the base of gumbo and other creole stews and soups,

After his parents divorced in 1967, he remained with his mother, alongside his three sisters.

Later, at 15 years old, he alongside his sister Renetta, moved to Atlanta, Georgia to study performing arts.

In 1996 she became a spokesperson of MAC Cosmetics, where started raising money for the company’s AIDS Fund. She became the first drag queen to land a major cosmetics campaign.

In the same year, she received her own talk show on VH1, The RuPaul Show, which ran for two seasons. After, she started co-hosting the morning radio show on WKTU with Michelle Visage.

Her success as a recording artist continued with the release of eleven studio albums to date, such as Glamazon (2011), Born Naked (2014) and American (2017).

As an actor, RuPaul has starred in films such as Crooklyn (1994), The Brady Bunch Movie (1995), To Wong Foo, and the Netflix original series Girlboss, among others.

Apart from being a kick-ass TV host, she is also an author. She has published two books to date: Lettin’ It All Hang Out (1995) and Workin’ It! RuPaul’s Guide to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Style (2010).

In addition, RuPaul’s Drag Race has nine seasons to date and has inspired several spin-off series like RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars on LGBTQ network Logo TV.

He doesn’t care if you refer to him as she or he, as long as is positive.
