Backstreet Boys Net Worth: How rich is Backstreet Boys? & How much money is Backstreet Boys worth? Time to find out!
Backstreet Boys are an American vocal group, formed in Orlando, Florida in 1993, and their current net worth is $250 million.
The American band, formed by AJ McLean, Howie D., Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, and Brian Littrell, has their anniversary on April 20, 1993.
It all started with Dorough and McLean, both Orlando, Florida natives, who met each other first and discovered Nick Carter through audition a few months after.
After realizing that they could sing together, the three decided to form a trio.
Upon Richardson moving to Orlando in the 1990s, he started working at Disney World and played music at night. Through his way of playing, he met the other tree, Dorough, Carter and McLean.
A few months after, Lou Pearlman placed an ad in the Orlando Sentinel to start a band. McLean, who first auditioned for Pearlman became the first member.
A year later, Pearlman held an open casting call which drew a lot of young performers to come. But only Carter, Dorough and Richardson made it in to the band.
Then Littrell flew from Kentucky to Orlando to formally join the band, a day after he got the phone call from Richardson.
The one who decided to call them Backstreet Boys is Pearlman, after Orlando’s Backstreet Market.
The same year they had their very first performance at SeaWorld Orlando on May 8, 1993.
After the first performance, a lot of them followed in various venues during the summer of 1993.
They began touring school across the US, building a fan base while hoping to get a record deal.
They almost signed with Mercury Records in 1993, but the deal broke at the last minute because long time artist John Mellencamp wanted to leave the label if they got in band business.
In February next year Jeff Fenster, and David Renzer, who both worked for Zomba Music Records, saw the band performing and offered them their first record deal.
They had their breakthrough with the first album, Backstreet Boys in 1996.
From there everything is legend. The band sold over 130 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band in history.
They are the first group since Sade to have their first nine albums reach the top 10 on the Billboard 200, and the only boy band to do so.
They also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2013.
