New Zealand the forgotten paradise

New Zealand the forgotten paradise

If you like nature and stunning panoramic views, you’ll definitely love this.

Today we’ll discover New Zealand’s forgotten paradise. The first thing to know about NZ is that were talking about an island country, devided in two main landmasses, that of the North Island and the South Island. In size it can be similar with Great Britain or Japan and has a population of only four and a half million of people.

Their culture is called Maori and represents the integral part of Kiwi life. In Northland, Auckland, Rotorua and Canterbury, organised tours provide a traditional Maori welcome, you’ll hear Maori speeches and singing, see carved meeting houses and enjoy a hangi feast cooked in earth ovens. The pressing of noses represent their traditional form of greeting.

The island country is the homeland of many species of animals and vegetation. Only 5% of New Zealand’s population is human, the rest are animals. Here you can find the world’s smallest dolphin species know as dusky dolphins, the kea, a bird native to New Zealand,  known for doing many troubles to the locals, like pulling windscreen wipers off cars and eating the strips of rubber from windows, but also many species of reptiles, birds, marine mammals and fish.

The native flora of New Zealand is rich and unique, having evolved in isolation for millions of years. There are some native trees, like the kauri the largest tree in NZ, growing mainly in the northernmost parts of the country or the Black Tree Fern found in the Auckland Domain.

About the relief, well, the legend says that ”this land was born from the ocean like a giant fish, and then it waited until any other country has been discovered before any human set foot here”.

This small country has the most  beautiful and imposing landscapes in the world. The plains, mountains, volcanos, waterfalls, rivers and the sea are breathtaking.

Visiting this island may be the best thing you do if you look to get away from the noisy city or forget about life problems and daily routine, it can help you reinvent yourself. The great views of its relief gives you the impression that you are in other world or in a story where you are the hero. No wonder the two trilogies ”The Lord of the Rings” and ”The Hobbit” were filmed here, as the landscapes of this country are inspiring for everyone.

New Zealand is perfect for a holiday. Just look at these photos and try to imagine yourself on one of these wide plains admiring the high and impressive mountains, or the coast, where the big blue sea and the beautiful clouds touching the peak of the mountains makes a wonderful scene to watch.

This is New Zealand the green land on the other end of the world, plenty in water, volcanos, forests, majestic peaks and all inspiring natural forces.
