The company has its headquarters in Amsterdam, and its primary divisions are focused in the areas of Healthcare, Consumer Lifestyle and Lighting.
Philips is one of the largest electronics companies in the world and employs around 122,000 people across more than 60 countries.
Also, as of 2012, the Dutch company was the largest manufacturer of lighting in the world measured by applicable revenues.
Philips announced on September 23, 2014, that they plan to split the company into two, separating the lighting business from the healthcare and consumer lifestyle divisions.
