New York is making the Most Expensive Cup of Coffee in America!
Did you know that New York is making the most expensive cup of coffee in America? Well, we found out how much is it and where you can have it!
For most of us, a cup of coffee is something you need before anything else to start your day.
Coffee is that black liquid that keeps us all alive and well-functioning. The smell of freshly-roasted coffee beans in the morning is exactly what I need to get out of bed each morning.
Either you like to brew your coffee or you like to go to a coffee shop for your morning liquid, coffee is an important element in our busy lives.
Now, if you live in New York you’ve got one more reason to go out and enjoy a cup of coffee.
The Extraction Lab, which is a new place in Sunset Park, Brooklyn opened last Friday and is serving the most expensive cup of coffee in America for up to $18.
Since it opened many people pushed by the curiosity have passed their doors, to check the priciest cup of coffee in America.
For example, a 30-year-old actress named Annie Gaarder, who was on her lunch break has decided to try the coffee and called it “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity”.
“I would probably rather have a meal, but it was delicious,” she said. “Next time, I’ll get a lower-priced coffee. This was the life experience for me.” She usually adds cream, but skipped it because she “didn’t want to ruin it.”
You can opt for a $14.75 brew named the “Jeremy Zhang Gesha,” which is a rare Ethiopian Arabica bean that is grown in Panama and made in a $7,000 coffee maker.
Now you understand why they ask for that much money for a cup of coffee- because they use high-end coffee makers.
The coffee shop says that they will soon be selling an $18 cup, featuring an even higher-grade version of the Ethiopian Arabica bean.
“This is so cool and dope. I wouldn’t be opposed to buying an $18 cup of coffee. It’s like craft beer, but it’s the craft beer of the coffee world,” said Claire Andrews, 26, who works near the 35th Street shop.
“I wouldn’t spend $18 on a cup unless it’s a one-time thing,” said Alexa Peretz, a 26-year-old actress who got an herbal tea for $4.75.
The shop’s special Steampunk coffee and tea maker were specially created for them by Alpha Dominche.
The custom coffee and tea machines brew the coffee in a sequence of glass chambers leading to a beer-style tap.
Alpha Dominche CEO Thomas Perez said his goal with Extraction Lab wasn’t to create the country’s most expensive coffee, a title formerly held by Equator, a California shop that sold a $15 cup of coffee.
“We don’t want customers to be intimidated when they walk in,” Perez said. “We want to create an open community. That’s why the counters are low.”
