13. World Wood Record Challenge Cup Suit ($28,000)
Back in 2012, the late Sergio Loro Piana and his brother, Luigi, held a suit-making competition in Australia called the World Wood Record Challenge Cup. Any tailors in the country were invited to submit their best-designed suit. After several stages of selection, one winner was picked. It was Susanna Triplett.
The Australian woman produced and designed this lavish suit from top-quality wool. Each thread of the wool is only 11-micron wide in diameter. Sergio and Luigi liked both the suit’s fabric and design. Then, they made fifty of this suit and sold them under Loro Piana brand for $28,000 each.
Beside this contest-winning suit, Loro Piana also produces a lot of great luxury suits, especially those made of wool fabrics. This comes from the family history as wool fabrics merchant in the early 19th century.
Loro Piana has been known among the elite group of rich and famous. This brand sponsored some world-class luxury events, such as Yacht sailing regattas. Men wearing most expensive suit on most expensive yacht, it doesn’t get more exclusive than that!
