Some of the most influential sports cars took shape at this small English-based company, but only one Lotus can be called a supercar.
In its best days, the mid-engine, Italian-designed Esprit was worthy of supplanting Aston Martins in the race for James Bond’s cars.
But no more. Today it’s a usually recognizable and affordable car, and while some models still sell at enormous princes, plenty can be found for those on a budget.
It ain’t the best-looking car out-there, in my opinion, but is worth the title of a supercar. Don’t you think?
