See inside Qatar’s Royal Family’s New York Mansion worth $41 million they bought just for their servants. Because they are so rich even their servants live a life in luxury, Qatar’s royal family spent $41m for a New York mansion.

The royal family decided to purchase a third property in New York just for their loyal servants.

According to an insider, the family spent $41 million for the townhouse situated at 12 E 73rd Street in Manhattan.

Qatar’s royal family purchased the home from the founder of real estate bank Island Capital Group, billionaire Andrew Farkas.

The family reportedly spent $41 million for the townhouse despite the asking price of $42.5 million the property had when it first hit the market in 2016.

Closed in January this year, the sale of the 10,400-square-foot home marked Qatar’s third property in New York.

‘Andrew sold it to Qatar directly, with no broker involved,’ a real estate source said.

Why they purchased this property?

The family bought the property because of its location. Turns out that this new acquisition sits adjacent from two other properties previously purchased by Qatar.

‘They bought it because it backs directly onto their property at 7-9 East 72nd St,’ according to a source.

‘Andrew spent no expense renovating the place, but apparently it will be used for maids’ quarters’.

The estate boasts incredible views of parts of Manhattan from its comfy roof top.

Billionaire Andrew Farkas bought the home in 2007 for $23 million, and listed it on the market last year of $42.5 million.

Renovated within ten years by interior designer behind Skidmore Owings & Merrill LLP’s 252 East 57th Street, Daniel Romualdez, the estate is perfect for Qatar’s royal family’s taste.

Who designed it?

Originally designed by Henry Allan Jacobs, the palatial turn-of-the-century limestone mansion, sits on one of the city’s most sought after townhouse neighborhoods.

The house features five stories plus a finished English basement, according to Corcoran’s website.

This luxurious property boasts several comfy bedrooms, including one equipped with a fire place.

How about the exterior?

When it comes to the exterior spaces, apart from that incredible roof top, the house features a dazzling 500-square-feet south-facing garden, a terrace, and a landscaped roof terrace with an outdoor kitchen.

The home also features 7.5 bathrooms, including this luxurious oval-shaped bathtub.

Qatar’s other two proprieties were purchased for $26 million in 2002 after a private school relocated to a new place.
