11. Ebola Outbreak
After Zika virus, the world was taken aback by re-emergence of Ebola virus. This series of outbreak took place around three years ago in Africa. It has cost more than 11,000 confirmed deaths. But since then, cases after cases emerged.
In 2016, the concern was no longer about the virus outbreak. It was more about avoiding residual risk of new infections. Do you know that even after you get better, Ebola virus may stay inside you for about one year?
Ebola virus enters your body through fluids. It will set your body temperature up high and cause you bloody diarrhea. And before you know it, it can take your life away in just three days.
However, WHO claimed that Ebola vaccine has been found. It is called VSV-EBOV and it is believed to be 70-100% effective against Ebola. That is good news. Although, the residual effect remains a huge concern.
