13. Cao Dai (4 million adherents)
Ngô V?n Chiêu, a Vietnamese man, received a vision of the Divine Eye (which became the symbol of the faith) in 1921. It was the start of Cao Dai. This religion combines three beliefs together. They are Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism.
Its followers practices nonviolence and vegetarian life. They believe in the existence of two main Gods: Cao ?ài (Highest Lord) and Diêu Trì Kim M?u (Holy Mother) which also represent the yin and yang as the foundation of life.
The male creator represents the yang, which is masculine, ordaining, positive, and expansive. It is balanced by the yin of the Holy Mother which is feminine, nurturing, and restorative.
The adherents of Cao Dai practice rituals four times a day at temple or home altar. Today, there are six official branches of Cao Dai in Vietnam.
