For $1.5M You Could Call Arizona’s Falcon’s Nest House Your Next Home
According to Wikipedia, Arizona’s Falcon’s Nest house is the tallest single family house in the United States.
Located in Prescott, Arizona, this house is the tallest single family home in North America at 124 feet (38m).
Designed by Phoenix architect Sukumar Pal, the house is looking for a new owner.
The architect immigrated to Arizona from his native Kolkata in 1969. Inspired by his education in India, Pal wanted to build his house from the ground up with as little a carbon footprint as possible.
He could’ve just settled for much less, instead, Pal built a property far more magnificent.
Where you can find it?
Nestled just over an acre along a section of the range called Thumb Butte, the house, built in 1994, has incredible views.
“It’s breathtaking how someone could design something this tall in a residential area,” said Frank Aazami, the listing agent.
Boasting a 2,000-square-foot solarium the place offers magnificent views of the Arizona desert and hills for over 120 miles.
The base of Falcon’s Nest features a unique hydraulic elevator, which get you to and from the solarium.
There is also a rooftop landing where the new owner can view Prescott’s natural surroundings.
What is the best thing about it?
Because of its energy-efficient design, the property structure doesn’t contain any wood; instead they used steel, concrete and glass.
Thanks to the architect idea of the solarium, which keeps the heat out, you’ll have a great time there during the summer.
Its tower-like design funnels warm air up and out of the house by convection, which in this part of the globe is a necessity.
Don’t worry about winter though, because when winter temperatures drop below freezing, the same technology will keep you warm.
“Who do you know would design something to have gravity be the driving force of movement of air?” Aazami asked.
“It’s something [Pal] thought about all his life and wanted to get it accomplished. It was a lifetime achievement.”
I for one, would love to woke up every morning with those views and have my cup of coffee on the balcony. What do you think?
