Rihanna Hits New Fashion Trend: Coat-on-Skin
There she is, the fashion guru and she strikes us once again with a new sultry and ready-to-go for the winter fashion trend: Rihanna wears coats and nothing else matters!
We know very well by now that Rihanna’s a style icon and she’s got proof for that! After all, she didn’t win the Fashion Icon Award at the last year Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards, right?
Let’s just take a moment here and commemorate her memorable naked dress created by Adam Selman from 216,000 Swarovski crystals that left nothing much to the imagination.
But let’s go back to our business, now. I wanted us to remember that outfit because we must be aware that Rihanna is definitely in love with her body and really enjoys to show us some skin. We’re already used by now to see the diva in revealing outfits and still look classy as Hell!
And following her appearances closely lately, we finally got her message. The woman is trying – or as we know her it might come completely natural – to set a new sultry fashion trend that’s so typical of her: coat-on-skin.
Yes, our beloved fashionista has been spotted more and more lately rocking the winter wearing nothing but a fabulous coat right on her skin and glamorous accessories to complete the look.
I say it’s our fault, too. We should’ve gotten the message three years ago on April 11, 2012 when she showed up for a dinner in Sydney wearing nothing but a trench coat and a provocative red lipstick.
Everything clicked a few days ago when on February 10 she went out to have dinner with baby cousin Majesty in Santa Monica and she wore a fabulous vintage Donny Brooke coat and…nothing else. And we had a revelation: it looks familiar, it’s like a deja-vu. Yes, Rihanna’s got the coat-on-skin game going!
And she knows one important thing that we seemed to ignore: the main item of winter is..well, the coat! So why seize it with anything else?
The diva gave us the signals all winter long: when she appeared in a vintage sequin coat trimmed in fur and Louboutins on January 23 or when she rocked an oversized Tom Ford velvet blazer at the British Fashion Awards in December.
So, ladies, I say you should start listening to this fashion expert at least for what’s left of the winter and show off those fabulous coats you’ve got hanging in your closet to the next social event you’ll be attending!
Oh, and the best part of it all: you don’t have to waste anymore time waiting in line to coat check!
