How to dress for an interview | Advice for HER
How to dress for an interview? Maybe many of wondered after you received a phone call on which you were scheduled for a job interview.
What we must wear and what we mustn’t? How many accessories shall I wear? And the questions can go on. This article presents advice for HER.
A job interview is an important step on our life. I remember my first job interview. I didn’t put that much accents on clothes. Of course, I didn’t go on my pajamas, but still. I wasn’t paying any attention to the little details, such as jewelry, an elegant watch, a shiny pair of earrings etc.
A job interview is your opportunity to show your potential employer your skills. It is important to know how to sell yourself. Bottom line, you have to make a great first impression. And for that, not only that you have to impress them with what you can do and you’re good at, but also you have to impress them with your outfit.
And of course your looks, cause let’s face it. Looks does matter, especially if you’re applying for a promoter job. And when I say that you have to impress them with your looks, I don’t mean that you have to be the beautiful woman/man in the world. For women, not to wear a lot of strident make up and for men is better to be shaved.
The outfits must not contain strident colors. They must have an office tempt. You have to look professional. So, for you ladies, we prepared this list that you have to respect if you want to make a very good first impression :
– Moderated shoes
It’s better not to wear your 12-inch high heels. Keep in mind that you’re not going to a club!
– Limited jewelry
A fancy watch, a necklace and a pair of earrings should more than enough.
– Professional hairstyle
Again, you’re not going to a club or on catwalk. Your hairstyle has to be smooth. Nothing crazy. If you have a bad hair day right on the interview day, you can choose a pony tail or a fish tail.
– Perfect manicure
Hot pink long nails won’t help you. Not on your job interview in any case. You can go for a natural look or a french manicure. But not for red nail polish.
– A decent blouse
Let’s not show off with what Mother Nature endowed us.
– Tan hosiery. Or light.
– A presentable suit or a dress
Oh, the classics black slacks . A black dress is a simple, yet refined business cloth. The dress/skirt will always make a better impression if it skims the knee.
– A perfume
Take it easy with this one. Just spray a little on the neck and wrists and you’re done. Let the one that might hire you breathe.
