When something that belongs or belonged to the celebrities surfaces and goes up for auction one can expect that object is going to be sold for a lot of money.
Depends to whom it belonged and how old it was, the price for something owned by the celebrities and rare can go through the roof.
And it is expected that the auction to be a success when belongings of Marilyn Monroes are up for grabs.
This auction it is a way for Marilyn Monroe’s fans to collect some of the memorabilia. The LA’s Julien’s Auctions, is the kind of auction that every true fan needs to be a part of.
Lots of Monroe’s goods will be auctioned, including the body tight “Happy Birthday” dress worn by the star at President John F. Kennedy’s event. The sale will also include a very unique and precious Blancpain cocktail watch.
The watch will be making its first appearance on public grounds for the very first time after its debut entrance in 1962.
The price range of the watch, according to the auction’s estimations, is between $80,000 and $100,000 with an expectation to see a higher bid as well.
Rumors have that the actress received the jewel-embedded watch as a gift from her third husband, Arthur Miller, who was famous for his lavish gifts.
This one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry boasts 71 round diamonds and two marquise diamonds and has the Blancpain logo on the dial and Rayville Watch Co. Jewels, Unadjusted Switzerland on the movement.
Unlike many other stars, Monroe wasn’t one for the jewelry, which makes the watch even more desirable and worthy for avid and rich collectors.
The timepiece was given by Monroe to her mentor Lee Strasberg, which further became the property of his widow, Anna.
The rectangular cocktail watch is standard 1930 watch but it wasn’t always adored with diamonds, they were added later.
“Viewings of the items up for sale have been taking place since June 1, 2016, which is Monroe’s birthday. The actress would have been 90 this year. The pieces are on display this week in Los Angeles.”
