Sydney Opera House Offers Role in Opera Productions for $3,630

A Walk-On Role at Sydney Opera House Can Be Yours for Around $3,630

A walk-on role at Sydney Opera House can be yours for around $3,630!

I don’t know if you ever dreamed of performing at the Sydney Opera House or not, but if you did now it’s your chance!

“Be a diva at the Sydney Opera House with your very own walk-on role.”

The Opera Australia has announced the existence of a package that includes a walk-on role during a performance at the opera.

Anyone can be the happy ‘owner’ of that package that guests will get to indulge a flair for the dramatic, with hair, make-up, wigs and a specially-fitted costume.

After the full transformation is complete, guests will get to walk on stage and right into the performance.

“This is opera from the star’s perspective, and tonight, the experience is all yours. A walk-on role with Opera Australia lets you explore so much more than the stage. You’ll visit the Opera Australia studio and a costume dresser will fit you with a handmade costume”, according to the website, making guests sure that they will surrounded by performers singing in harmony and in front of a 1500 people crowd.

If you are worried that you don’t know the lines, or you’ll get stuck, I’m here to assure that none of that will happen, because guests will only be on the stage, they will not actually sing.

Everything you need to know will be explained by the assistant director who will coach the performer on what to do and when, this way you’ll enjoy fully your moment of glory.

“The person who purchased the walk-on must be at least 16 years old. The participant must be able to walk up and down stairs and on a sloped stage for them to qualify for a walk-on role in one of the operas performed at the Sydney Opera House.”

Another thing you should know is that you will not be doing this all by yourself; the package comes with a second ticket so the guest can bring someone to witness his/her big moment. After all, every actor needs an audience and someone to support him/her.

This is Sydney Opera House attempt to reach out to a broader market. We’d like to remind you that this summer the Opera house held a mass sleepover for the first time ever.

As not all productions have room for a walk-on performer, the choice of opera is at the discretion of Opera Australia, but will include La Bohème, La Traviata and Carmen.

There is a restriction on the schedule of performances available for the walk-on role. It must be mutually agreed on and scheduled on any date between January 15 to April 1, 2017, from January 1 to March 31, 2018, or July 1 to August 31, 2018.

What’s your opinion about this great opportunity? Would you like to have a walk-on role at Sydney Opera House?
