When Dubai announced that they are getting an even bigger skyscraper the competition got even better! However, this concept has been on the news long before Dubai’s tallest tower.
Russian architect Vasily Klyukin wanted to keep up with the rapidly developing architecture and got even more creative.
He has designed a skyscraper shaped like a Cobra that might be gracing a city’s skyline in the future, according to the Daily Mail.
The Designing Legends is a book of 50 concept buildings that the former banker released in 2014. The book included a rocket-shaped skyscraper and a tower inspired after Venus de Milo sculpture.
But his best design is this futuristic structure that rises from a circular base, widening to a cobra head-shaped pinnacle complete with red eyes and a fanged sneer.
Its open jaws could be used as the site of a terraced restaurant or nightclub, while the viper’s body could house offices or residential units, Klyukin told the Daily Mail.
The concept art shows the tower lighting up in different colors at night, from red and gold to electric blue. The businessman and former banker claims his architectural design work is ‘predicting the future’.
Mr Klyukin said: ‘These buildings rise up proudly in columns looking over cities or stand alone in the landscape.Either way, skyscrapers grab our attention and awaken our consciousness, inspiring some and irritating others.’
‘These rising towers have changed cityscapes around the world and have become the clearest reflection of cultural and economic progress in the twentieth century. At times, it is skyscrapers that dictate the style of business regions and even whole cities.’
‘Tourists, fascinated, would look at this immense cobra, its jaws serving a terrace would be a restaurant or a night club and its body could contain offices or apartments.’
The designer believes his snake tower would most likely entice developers in cities in the Middle East and Asia, where snakes are reportedly seen as a sign of wisdom.
‘In Japan telling someone that he is a snake means a compliment. In China snakes and dragons often mean the same,’ Mr Klyukin explains.
The architect also wrote on his website. “The diamond-shaped pattern on the back of the snake is the symbol of Yang and Yin, duality and reunification of the Sun and the Moon, male and female principles, conciliation of opposites, and androgyny.”
