9.Umaid Bhawan Palace – $225,000
On number 9 we have the Umaid Bhawan Palace.
Located in India, the Umaid Bhawan Palace was built in 1943 and at that time, it was the world’s largest home. Costing more than $225.000 and requiring 15 years and 3500 builders to be completed, the Palace is part hotel, part residence.
The spectacular indoor pool features an Art Deco style. The bottom of the circular pool is decorated with mosaics depicting Zodiac signs, the pool being also named Zodiac.
The walls and ceiling are covered with gold tiles, so this is luxury at its best.
The Zodiac can be visited by hotel guests and the members of India’s royal family, who still live in their own private wing of the palace.
