Scarlett Johansson Can’t Stop Smiling at the Opening of her Popcorn Shop in Paris

Scarlett Johansson Opens Popcorn Shop in Paris and Everyone is Losing It

Have you heard that Scarlett Johansson opens popcorn shop in Paris?

Turns out that actress Scarlett Johansson isn’t just good at playing in the movies, she is also good at selling popcorn.

She changed the gala dress for the popcorn apron and went behind the counter at her new popcorn shop in Paris.

The Avengers actress showed up in a classic French blue and white striped top at the launch of the Yummy Pop store that she and her husband Romain Dauriac have opened in the city’s trendy Marais district.

‘It has been a dream of mine and my family for several years to bring our favorite American snack to our favorite European City!’ Scarlett had shared of the shop, in a statement.

‘I am so excited to introduce Yummy Pop, a labor of love and Epicurean enthusiasm. My hope is for Yummy Pop to become a Parisian snacking staple and a symbol of friendship between my two most beloved cities, Paris and New York,’ she added.

They believe that their unusual taste in popcorn with some different flavors like truffle, parmesan and sage flavor (her personal favorites) will blow the mind of the customers in the gastronomic capital of the world.

Turns out that she is very passionate about popcorn, and hopes to become a ‘pop’ star with her new snack bar.

Before of the event, her spokesman in LA said that all the items on the menu were cooked and mixed fresh on the spot with seasonal ingredients.

Six are available in the red-white-and-blue, barber shop-themed bar: on the savory side, cheddar, truffle parmesan and olive oil and salt n’ pepper; for those with a sweet tooth, Canadian maple, chocolate strawberry and strawberry cream.

Slogans like “pop till you drop” and “pop here, pop there, pop everywhere” can be seen all over the interior while American anthems Mustang Sally and Street Life play on the soundtrack.

As expected and confirmed by the employees, the truffle parmesan (Johansson’s favorite) and the Canadian maple have been the most popular in the two categories: sweet and salty.

The subtle olive oil variety is said to be Johansson’s husband, Romain Dauriac’s favorite.

The shop will cook and mix the popcorn fresh on their premises with seasonal ingredients, serving up flavors such as ‘real Vermont cheddar.’

The couple collaborated on their menu with Chef Will Horowitz of Ducks Eatery and Harry and Ida’s in New York.

Other flavors born out of that collaboration include popcorn that comes with sea salt and olive oil, ‘real Vermont maple,’ strawberries and cream, and chocolate-covered strawberries.

At $6 (€5.50) for a small, $11.50 (€10.50) for a medium and $16.30 (€15) for a large, it remains to be seen if Yummy Pop will stick.

‘The opening of the shop fits right in with the Americanization of Paris’ food culture. Yummy Pop sits across the street in the popular Marais district from a hot dog stand, and burger joints, BBQ and anything Brooklyn-themed have been all the rage recently. There’s even a fried chicken and waffles bar,’ says a happy customer.

Scarlett and Romain have shared that if it does well, they plan to open more locations.
