Master P. is an American hip hop recording artist, actor, businessman, investor, author, filmmaker, record producer, philanthropist, and former basketball player and his current net worth is $390 million.
Born in New Orleans in the Calliope Projects as the oldest of five children, he has one sister and three brothers.
Growing up he attended Booker T. Washington High School & Warren Easton High School. While there he played on the basketball team after which he went to the University of Houston on an athletic scholarship.
However, he dropped out months into his freshman years, after which he moved to Merritt College in Oakland, California. He majored in business.
Upon the death of his grandfather, he inherited $10,000 as part of a malpractice settlement.
He is the owner of a record store in California called No Limit Records, which later became the base of his own record label.
He could have gone on bad roads after his brother passed away, but that only increased his motivation to become a successful entrepreneur,
A few years later he released his debut studio album, Get Away Clean. A while after he released his second album; both albums released through In-A-Minute Records.

He is also the founder of the record label No Limit Records, re-launched as New No Limit Records through Universal Records and Koch Records.

He is the founder and CEO of P. Miller Enterprises, a conglomerate company, and Better Black Television, a short-lived online television network.
His breakthrough came in the mid-1990s with the success of his hip hop music group RU.
Apart from his work in entertainment industry he also starred in the film Lockdown.
In 2004 after the release of his eleventh album, he also released his first independent album Living Legend: Certified D-Boy on his new label Guttar Music.
