Matt Damon is an American actor, film producer, and screenwriter, and his current net worth is $200 million.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, as the younger of the two sons of couple Nancy Carlsson-Paige, a childhood education professor, and Kent Damon, a stockbroker, realtor and tax preparer, Matt spent most of his childhood in Newton until 1973, when his parents divorced.

After his parents divorced he and his brother, moved with their mother in Cambridge where he grew up close to actor Ben Affleck.

He went to Cambridge Rindge and Latin School and during his time there he performed in some theater productions.

Enrolled in Harvard University as English major, but kept skipping classes to pursue acting projects.  Some of those projects included the Rising Sun (1993), and prep-school drama, School Ties (1992).

The next year, he and his friend Ben Affleck decided to write the script for Good Will Hunting (1997), and were able to garner accolades for it.

Matt and Ben starred in the film, which was nominated for 9 Academy Awards, one of which was won by Matt for Best Original Screenplay along with Ben Affleck.

A year later, he played in Spielberg’s film, Saving Private Ryan, which at the time of its release was one of the most acclaimed films.
