It’s Not Common to Track Your Life Progress but It’s an Important Step Towards Success. Let’s Learn How to Do It.
Quick question, do you know where you are in life?
Take a second and reflect on that.
When most people get asked this question, they struggle to find the right answer.
They usually say something like “My life? Oh yeah, no, it’s good, it’s good .. I mean it could be better but I can’t complain”.
This is because most people fail to actively track their progress and how exactly their life is going. They settle for having dreams and aspirations that will never be reached and call it a day.
How many of you said “well, tomorrow is another day”, without figuring out how exactly today went wrong?
We’re here to change that mindset, and by the end of this article you should have a better understanding on how to make tomorrow a better day, not “another” day.

With that said, let’s get straight into the article.
Before tracking your life progress, you need to figure out where exactly you’re at right now.
This is a surprisingly hard thing to do, because most people are scared of looking in the mirror and seeing their true self. They would rather ignore the person staring back at them rather than facing reality.
But here’s the thing, and this is important, so pay attention.
“You need to start where you are, and to the most with what you have”
So being able to look at yourself and be ok with who you see is the first step in tracking your life progress.
Here’s a little exercise for you: next time you’re in the shower, take a minute and reflect on how your life is going. Be true to yourself.
Only when you have a clear idea of where you are, can you move to the next step.
In our years of tracking how life is going and where we’re heading, we identified 5 pillars of success, which are trackable and have a clear plan of execution.
We have included them in our Goal Mastery course, which the smart of you enrolled in.
For those who didn’t, the program is closed but we will re-open sometime again during this year so if you want to make the smart decision and invest in yourself, go to alux.com/goals and join the waiting list.
We won’t dive into those pillars here, but we’ll condense them following a pretty smart formula Tim Ferriss used in his book Tool of Titans. By the way, it’s a super good read for those of you interested in advice for all areas of life.
There are 3 major areas where you can make progress in life and track it:
Health, Wealth and Wisdom
For each of these areas, we’ll give you 3 ways to track your progress.
Let’s start with:
Wealth
People have a complicated relationship with money because it causes them a lot of stress.
They have the wrong outlook for money. They don’t see it for what it really is. A tool of exchange.
If you are unfamiliar with this idea, go back and watch our previous sunday video.
This is a very long topic and it should be its own article, but here are 3 important things to track.
1
Literally Track Your Damn Money
So many people complain about having too much month left at the end of their money but have no idea what they are actually spending on.
It’s pretty clear how much money you’re earning, but somehow at the end of the month you never have the same amount of money left, and you have no idea why.
If you’re having this problem, this is the first thing you fix and start tracking.
2
“Oh Shit” Money
If something goes wrong tomorrow and you can’t earn income for the following months, how long until you go broke? You saw it happening during the pandemic, a lot.
Having “oh shit” money means having enough cash put aside to last you at least 3-6 months in case something bad happens. This should buy you enough time to get back on your feet.
It’s a safety cushion and a stress reliever. If your job sucks and you want to move to something better, that 3-6 month of cash reserve can be crucial.
3
The Magic Number
This is something we explained in great detail in Goal Mastery and we provided a template to accurately calculate your exact magic number.
For the purposes of this article, let’s go with a more simple formula.
Everybody has a different magic number but you find it the same way.
You calculate how much money you need to function as a human being for a month, then double it. That’s your first financial goal. Reaching your magic number means eliminating financial stress, for the first time in your life.
How many of these 3 are you tracking right now?
Health
Here’s the right mindset regarding health:
Your body is the contact point between your mind and the physical reality.
If your body is weak, your experience with life will be weak as well.
You can’t really go for a hike with your loved one if you get tired after 2 flights of stairs, do you?
As with wealth, here are 3 things worth tracking, health wise:
1
Find Points of Discomfort and Fix Them
Think of things causing you physical pain or discomfort.
These are opportunities to make incremental changes to your health.
If you work all day at a desk and you look like a banana when you get up, fix your posture.
You wake up every day with a huge pain in your lower back because your mattress sucks, get a new mattress.
If you can drink from a straw without opening your mouth, fix your teeth.
The more points of discomfort you find and fix, the more enjoyable your life will become.

2
The 5K Challenge
Challenges are popular nowadays, so here’s one. Run a 5k.
Everybody in good health should be able to finish a run in decent time.
It’s short enough so you don’t have to train for it but long enough to be a challenge if you’ve been a couch potato for the past year.
3
Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Learn to cook at least one healthy version for each of those.
There’s no secret that what you put in your body has the most impact on your overall health.
Go find whatever recipes suit you and get really good at each of them.
How have you scored on health so far?
Wisdom
Being a wise person means understanding how the world works and gives you the ability to connect dots. The problem here is that a lot of stupid people think of themselves as smart.
1
Read One Book a Month
Education is the absolute best and most straightforward way to increase your intellect.
Aluxers, you can finish an audiobook in one weekend, surely you can do that.
We’ve been giving you guys a ton of great book recommendations throughout the years, and hopefully some of you made the smart choice. Plus, they are literally free.
Here’s another one, we recently finished, again, The 10x Rule by Grant Cardone. It’s a book we listen to every 6 or so months to get us pumped for our next projects.
If you need some energy to get you started on this project, this is the perfect book, and you can have it for free by going to alux.com/freebook and signing up.
2
Have Conversations With People Smarter Than You
First of all, you should never be the smartest person in the room, so if you don’t know anyone smarter than you, go find some new friends. You can always talk with us, by the way.
When you’re talking with people smarter than you, two things happen:
1. You get first hand experience on things smart people are interested in.
2. You get better at asking great questions.
If you could have a chance to ask Bill Gates a question right now, what would you ask him?
Can’t think of much? Have conversations with smarter people.
3
Get Good Enough at Something New
Learning how to be good enough at something holds an incredible power.
It unlocks your potential and opens your eyes on what’s really possible for your future self.
Learning how to learn is the ultimate tool someone can have in their arsenal.
We believe this skill is so valuable, we made an entire course on learning how to learn, and it becomes available this September.
