Own a Piece of History by buying the $6.9 Million Home that Once Belonged to Beloved Actress Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe’s Last Home Where She Died at 36 Goes on Market for $6.9 million!

Would you want to know more about Marilyn Monroe’s last home where she died of an overdose at the age of 36? Then you must keep reading!

The Los Angeles home was her first and her last home. Marilyn Monroe bought the estate in Los Angeles in the early 60s, right after her divorce from her third husband, playwright, Arthur Miller.

This is the actress’ first home she ever bought on her own and is also the last one she ever lived in.

The actress died in the master bedroom four months after she purchased the residence.

This is yet another expensive Marilyn Monroe’s memorabilia, and it’s up for grabs for $6.9 million.

Since Marilyn last lived there, the 2,624-square-foot-residence, which was built in 1929, hasn’t changed much.

The average price per square foot in the Brentwood area is $975, while Monroe’s house is selling at $2,630 per square foot, is a slightly big amount for a four-bedroom, three-bath house.

“Anybody who likes my house, I’m sure I’ll get along with. When you walk the house and grounds, you’re immediately struck by its serenity and warmth.” Marilyn Monroe said in Life magazine.

“Every owner who has called this property home has been drawn to the same character. The property is romantic, intimate and private.”

She planted an herb garden and in early 1962 traveled to Mexico “to purchase authentic furniture, art and tapestries for her new home, the only home she ever owned.”

When she purchased the property she paid between $75,000 and $90,000 for the place that is now on sale.

The actress lived there with her housekeeper, Eunice Murray. Monroe never did swim in the pool, but she appreciated the home’s privacy behind tall gates.

The estate was sold a number of times since Marilyn passed away. Last time was in 2010 for $5.1 million.

With original architectural details, including beamed ceilings, terra-cotta tile flooring, casement windows, and this house could become your dream home in a blink of an eye. Lisa Optican of Mercer Vine is representing the property.

Would you want to make this house your next home?
