Lori Greiner is an American inventor, entrepreneur, and television personality and her current net worth is $55 million.
Born as the second daughter of a real estate developer father and a psychologist mother, she is a member of the reality TV show Shark Tank.
Often referred to as The Queen of QVC, she grew up on the Near North Side, Chicago. At nine years old, she witnessed her parents’ divorce.
As for her education, she majored in communications, with focus on journalism, television and film at Loyola University Chicago. While there she used to work for the Chicago Tribune.
For a short period of time, she sold her own jewelry on the side as well as being a playwright.
She is the president and founder of the Chicago company For Your Ease Only, Inc., which she started in 1996. The company does product development and marketing.
Greiner has since helped launch more than 400 products and holds 120 US and foreign patents.
Apart from appearing in Shark Tank, she also appeared on its spin-off, Beyond the Tank.
Since 1998 she has a program on QVC called “Clever & Unique Creations Show”. This is why many people refer to her as the Queen of QVC.
Everything had to start from somewhere and before all this she created an intricate box to organize earning which she later patented.
She created a sample product using borrowed money, which J.C. Penny picked up, right before the holiday season.
Eighteen months later, that same product made her rich.
After she joined the US TV series Shark Tank, in 2012, she got the nickname of “the warm-blooded shark”.
Two years later, she invested in Scrub Daddy, a company that makes a texture changing household sponge. The investment turned out to be successful.
Even today, Scrub Daddy is still “the biggest success story in Shark Tank history”. The company has sales of over $75 million and a growing product line.
Among her other investments include Squatty Potty, Readerest, Paint Brush Cover, Hold Your Haunches, Drop Stop, FiberFix, Simply Fit Board and Screenmend.
Apart from her work as an investor and entreprenor she is also an author. In 2014 she published the book Invent it, Sell it, Bank it! – Make Your Million Dollar Idea into a Reality. The book reached number three on the Wall Street Journal’s bestseller list.
