9) Marilyn Monroe’s Chest X-rays -$45,000
The American sweetheart died a long time ago, but the flame that burned people back then is still alive. People will pay anything to save something associated with her.
The perfect example is a set of three of her chest X-rays as a young woman, which of course sold for $45,000 at Hollywood Legends auction in Las Vegas.
The X-rays were taken in 1954 and you can clearly see part of her famous silhouette.
A young doctor working in the radiology department at the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Florida got his hands on the X-rays when he taught classes at the medical school.
He wasn’t the one who sold the X-rays. He gave them to his daughter and she got $45,000 for them.
