13. Powered by a V6 Diesel Engine
A huge truck like this Mercedes-Benz X-Class needs an engine that is equally huge in terms of power. So Mercedes equipped it with a powerful V6 diesel engine. This high-torque engine provides high driving dynamics on and off the road.
It looks like that there will be three options of engine for this pickup truck. The biggest will be the 3.0-L V6 engine (petrol engine may be available). And the other two are smaller 2.3-L and 2.5-L V4 engines with both turbo-diesel and petrol options available.

V6 is one of the most compact engine configurations. That is why it is widely used for most modern cars. As you can see, the space allowed for engines in today’s cars is getting smaller yet the power demand is getting bigger. Thus, V6 is the perfect solution for this.
V6 engine has been also commonly used in classic racing cars, such as some of the most expensive Ferrari cars ever sold in the world.
As for the power figure for this Mercedes X-Class, it has not yet been revealed.
