He founded Southern hip hop group Three 6 Mafia in 1991. Along with DJ Paul and Lord Infamous, rappers Crunchy Black, Gangsta Boo and Koopsta Knicca later joined the group.

In 1994 the band dropped the deal with the label and went with their business partner, Nick Scarfo Jackson. Then they released Hypnotize Minds.

In 1995 they released their debut album called Mystic Stylez. So far the group released eight albums.

Since 2011, Juicy J announced his part-ownership and A&R rep for Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang Records.

In 2012, Source Magazine’s May 2012 issue featured him, along his Taylor Gang label-mates on their cover.

The same year he released the lead single of his third album Stay Trippy. He created the song in a two bedrooms apartment in D.C. and Mike Will Made It produced it.

He signed a record deal with Columbia Records and Dr. Luke’s recording label, Kemosabe Records.

In 2013 his third studio album, Stay Trippy, under the labels came. Among the guest appearances were Wiz Khalifa, The Weeknd, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, and many more.

The album included frequent collaborators Lex Luger, Sonny Digital, Mike Will Made It, Dr. Luke, and Crazy Mike.

The same year he released Show Out, a single featuring Big Sean and Young Jeezy as the second single from the album.

Stay Trippy debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 64,000 copies in the US.

Juicy J announced a new album called Rubba Band Business (named after his acclaimed mixtape series) set to debut in the fall of 2016.

He released the promotional single “No English” featuring Travis Scott as the first single from the album.

Lately he has released a new song titled Gimme Gimme featuring Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd, produced by Mike Will Make it and Resource of Ear Drummers.
