Patek Philippe is one of the best luxury watch-making companies you could wish to find! But as we all know, greatness is hard to achieve and the company’s journey towards success wasn’t an easy one!

At first,Antoni Patek, a Polish watchmaker, that was based in Geneva, had a partner  named Franciszek Czapek but their collaboration ended after five years.

Success sprung his way when he started a partnership with a French man named Adrien Philippe, the man credited with the invention of the keyless winding machine.

After six years, in 1851 the two formalized their partnership and established the Patek Philippe & Co.

Also, Antoni Patek became famous in 1839 and is known as the first to create crown wound pocket watches. Before Patek’s invention, pocket watches were wounded with a key.

Today, Patek Philippe is one of the best luxury timepiece maker in the world. They created their first wristwatch in 1868 and also invented the first wristwatch with a perpetual calendar back in 1925 but they released in 16 years later in 1941.
