Kevin O’Leary is a Canadian businessman, author and television personality and his current net worth is $415 million.

Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada as the son of Georgette, small-business owner and investor, and Terry O’Leary, a salesman, he has Irish citizenship and passport.

His father died shortly after his parents got divorced. Upon his death, his mother ran the business as an executive. Later on, she re-married to an economist who worked the UN’s International Labour Organization.

His stepfather’s job made the family move frequently lived in many places, including Cambodia, Tunisia, and Cyprus.

Growing up, he went to Quebec school Stanstead College and St. George’s School.

Many of his investment lessons came from his mother, who used to be a skilled investor.

While still young, he wanted to become a photographer, but thanks to his stepfather advice, he went to university. There he continued to grow his interest in business and investing.

Upon graduating he received an honorous bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and psychology from the University of Waterloo.

After which, he got an MBA in entrepreneurship from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario.

When almost into the second year of his MBA program, he received an internship at Nabisco in Toronto. There he worked as an assistant brand manager for Nabisco’s cat food brand.

He says that thanks to the company he developed his skills in marketing. As a result, those skills helped him became successful at The Leaning Company.

After leaving the company, he started a brief career as a television producer.

With the help of two of his former MBA classmates, Scott Mackenzie and Dave Toms, he co-founded Special Event Television.

The television production company became successful thanks to their minor television shows, soccer films, sports documentaries, and short in-between-period ads.

He also co-founded O’Leary Funds and SoftKey, as well as making appearances on some Canadian television shows, from 2004 to 2014.

In addition to his career as a businessman, he is also written some book. Among those, we recall his first book, Cold Hard Truth: On Business, Money & Life, which he released in 2011.

Since 2009 he has appeared on Shark Tank, along with Chris Sacca, and Lori Greiner, Mark Cuban.

He married his wife, Linda, since 1990. The couple has two children.
