Born in Atlanta, Georgia, as the only child, to his mother who sold real estate, and Lawrence Harvey Walker, a collection agent, he grew up in Atlanta with his single mother.

In 2016, Benjamin had a recurring role as Michael LaCroix on the second season of the anthology crime drama series American Crime.

He also launched the Benjamin Bixby clothing line in 2008, inspired by the 1935s football.
